General Appearance: Shane is fairly average looking and isn't one of those people who stand out on looks alone. Neither hair nor eye colour really stand out. Hell, his most distinguishing feature would be he is a bit paler than your average human, but that's about it. Shane's hair is cut pretty short from his days in the Roman army, and he can always be seen wearing the colour purple somewhere in his attire. This is because he believes it is a royal colour and he thinks he should be treated as such. He is not royalty and would never claim such a thing, but he believes he is something like royalty in the vampire community.

Personality: Gaius/Shane is selfish. In fact, the only other person he really cares about now is his wife. Anyone else is either an enemy, a peon, or food. Sometimes the fit into two of those three categories. His main drive is to taste more of the lovely vampire blood though, and he is looking for others that may end up sharing his interests. If he thinks he may have found one, it is quite possible he might try to turn them. Of course, it still depends on the person. Wouldn't want to be outranked or make to many after all.
One his flaws would be the fact that he thinks himself better than nearly everyone else. He is also quite religious and believes the gods have given him a blessing to feed off his own kind. Overall, he cares for little except Vampire blood and himself though his one weakness would be his wife, the only human he has yet turned so far.

History: Shane was brought up on the poorer side of Rome. He wasn't poor poor, but he wasn't rich or likely to become government any time soon. His father was a butcher and pushed Shane to join the army and Shane finished his schooling. It was during his time in the army that he met Lysistrata, a pseudo attractive Grecian woman who Shane decided to take as his reward. It was while he has having his way with her that she decided to turn him. Maybe she decided that would be his punishment for being so cruel and "conquering" her. Who knows? But that was when she did it, and only she knows why, because Morielli never found out.
After his change, he was unable to walk in the sunlight, but he had gained the power of domination, finding he could control people if he looked into their eyes. Well, he had actually gained two abilities, but he didn't find out about the other one until later. Then, of course, he gained that infamous lust for blood, and Shane found himself bleeding the humans dry. Well, he took in as much as he possibly could, but not even a vampire can hold that much blood in their system. Still, he had no qualms with killing. Eventually, Shane left Lysistrata to travel on his own.
In his travels, he came upon a couple of vampires, Marcus and Clara. They joined together and traveled even more through the years. However, there was one day when Marcus and Shane got into a heated argument, and eventually it got so out of hand that Shane lashed out and ended up killing his partner. Upon the death of Marcus, some of the blood splattered across Shane's face, some even getting into his mouth. He licked his lips, and even those few droplets were heavenly. Add that to the fact that he hadn't fed yet that evening, and Shane was soon delving into the body, trying to get as much of that sweet blood as he possibly could. That was when Clara returned and when Morielli discovered his secret ability.
She had started to attack him when her body started rotting with gangrene. Oh, it came apart so quickly, but after he used it, it wouldn't come again. It was later he discovered that ability only came about after he fed on vampires. When the feeding was fresh, he could cause the diseases to accelerate. The downfall to this was that he would then have to feed again, because the acceleration used the blood. If he didn't accelerate it, he did not have to refeed however. Also, he figured out he could cause other rotting diseases, not just gangrene. Oh, this just gave him more reason to feed on vampires.
Skip ahead eight hundred years. It was during this time, Shane found Sophia. For some reason, Shane was fascinated by her. He didn't know why, but he was. She wasn't extremely sadistic or vile. She wasn't quirky or crazy in some way. Just young and beautiful. Shane ended up turning her, hoping he could find someone to share his fine tastes with. If she didn't succumb, he could always kill her and feed from her. However, she did succumb, and they have been traveling the world, feeding on their kind, ever since. Well, except for one point in time.
It was when they were traveling in Egypt that they came across a group of vampires known as the Shenouda clan. Of course, Sophia and Shane tried to take one of them to feed the fuel they truly desired, but they were unsuccessful. Not only that, but dwelled in ancient magic, and the clan cursed Shane and Sophia, making it so they were unable to feed off other vampires. Any time they tried, their own life started to dwindle away so they were stuck feeding on humans once more. Eventually, the curse ended. It may have ended earlier, but Shane did not figure out it was ended until the 1920's, and now he has strong thirst for both vampire blood and revenge.
